A statistical methodology to identify imbalance-induced capacity wastes for LV networks

چکیده

• Not considering single-phase peak current would underestimate imbalance induced additional reinforcement costs (ARCs). Adopting a probability study of ARC promotes its credibility on making investment decisions phase balancing. With the increase average load for LV networks, their ARCs do not continuously increase. Phase (i.e., among three phases) causes inefficient use three-phase distribution assets, resulting in (ARCs) compared to if phases were balanced. However, two problems remain unresolved when calculating ARC: 1) previous formulas assume that total and occur simultaneously, thus causing an underestimation ARC; 2) calculate as point value, using one year's load. value is credible supporting This because growth yearly inconsistent over years – could be positive or negative low voltage (415 V, LV) networks. To address above problems, this paper originally develops updated formula; customised approach, named cluster-wise assessment, deliver confidence range any given network. approach only requires current, it applicable majority networks have minimal amount data. Case studies also identify counterintuitive finding how impact ARCs.

Statistical analysis of the deployment potential of Smart Grids solutions to enhance the hosting capacity of LV networks

Several smart grids solutions to enhance the hosting capacity of LV networks have been proposed, investigated and successfully demonstrated. However, the real deployment potential remains unknown, which is a barrier to a systematic use of them by distribution network operators. This paper presents the results of the work done in the project IGREENGrid on the quantification of the potential of s...

A bi-objective model for the capacity and location of landfills for municipal solid wastes

This paper considers a bi-objective mathematical model for locations of landfills, transfer stations and material recovery facilities (MRFs) in order to serve the entire regions and simultaneously identify the capacities of landfills. This is a mixed-integer programming (MIP) model, whose objectives are to minimize the total cost and pollution simultaneously. To validate the model, a numerical ...

Methodology to Identify SMEs Needs of Internationalised and Collaborative Networks

This paper provides a methodology to support researchers in the identification of SMEs needs encountered when establishing collaborative processes within non-hierarchical manufacturing networks. Furthermore, the methodology also determines the needs when non-hierarchical networks internationalise their processes and operations to overcome globalisation and competitive environments. The major go...

A Methodology for Paradigm Shift to Explain Sustainable University

The sustainable university concept is rooted in prevalent paradigms pertained to economic, social and environmental development, which all focus on systemic thought and rationality; besides, they tend to  discover and solve problems by applying an interdisciplinary approach. However, the epistemic component is what these paradigms have ignored. The purpose of this study is to explain a methodo...
